Insider Tips on Virginia Car Auctions: Public Car Auctions & Dealer Auto Auctions

I'm the Car Dealer King, and I want to help you learn why Virginia's a great place to find deals at wholesale used car auctions. You'll find all sorts preowned vehicles for sale – everything from cars donated to charity to bank repossessions and even police seizures.

They often have really nice cars with clean titles, too - think lease returns, government surplus, and rental fleets. Of course, they'll let you know if a car doesn't have a clean title before the bidding starts.

Now, you've got options when it comes to bidding. Some folks like doing it online, but I prefer to be there in person. That way I can kick the tires and get a real feel for the car.

Just remember, most of these cars are sold "as is," so bid smart. Check the car over carefully and see if you can get a vehicle history report.

Financing is something else to think about. Some auctions have financing options, or you can check with your bank or credit union.

Just make sure you know what you can afford before you get caught up in the excitement of the auction. And don't forget about the fees.

You'll have to pay a buyer's fee, plus taxes and any state fees. One more thing – if you're looking to sell a car quickly, you can actually do that at some of these auctions too. It's a fast way to turn that old ride into cash.
