Learn About Local and Online Car Auctions in Ohio Open to the Public & Wholesale Dealer Auto Auctions
Ohio's got a bunch of wholesale used car auctions, and I've been to my fair share. Some are open to anyone, no license needed, while others are just for licensed dealers and wholesalers like me.
They've got both in-person and online bidding. Now, even if you're bidding online, I always recommend checking out the cars in person beforehand. Bring a mechanic if you want – it's worth the peace of mind.
I Am Your Tour Guide for Car Auctions in Ohio
I've thrown in some of my own tips for each auction, along with dates and links to their online inventories with photos. You will find used cars from bank repossessions, police seizures, tow company impounds, donated charity cars, and more.
Also, you can easily sell your vehicle at auction for low-hassle quick-sell. I prefer to sell cars at an auction than waiting around for people from online classifieds to show up. Plus, Ohio has so many major cities relatively close together, it's nice to be able to offer my used car to everyone all at once.
Many of the auction cars for sale will have clean titles, but the auctioneer will let you know if that's not the case, so pay attention to announcements about the title.
My Advice for Beginners: Before you head over to any of these auctions, give them a call to make sure they're open to the public. In my experience, the auction staff are usually happy to answer any questions you might have, so don't hesitate to ask.
There are several car auctions in Ohio to choose from near major cities like Columbus (off I-70) and Cleveland (up by I-90), and others in-between.
